5 extra credit if you know why I used the title I did for this post...
Well it seems the outdoors have been made a marketing tool for the ever growing cosmetic industry. I'm sure we have all seen ads where natural ingredients are used for shampoo or lotion or make-up, but what about deodorant?
Old Spice has just released it's "Fresh Collection". I have to admit I have been turned back onto Old Spice since they changed up there fragrances. Back in middle school I used Old Spice and didn't like it much. For most of my post-pubescent life I have used a gel deodorant/antiperspirant. It worked great for me, lasted all day and never gave me any issues.
But, have you ever tried to put on frozen gel deodorant? It doesn't work too well. imagine waking up to ice on your tent. You don't want to get out of your sleeping back, why would you want to put a freezing on one of the warmest parts of your body. Plus when you travel and stuff your stick into a pack its going to get crushed and squeeze all that gel into the cap, so messy.
For these reasons I chose to get some standard talc based deodorant for my last camping trip. The stuff I got was probably a little strong to be worn in bear country, but it did the job. Now there is this "Fresh Collection". I picked up the Denali scent, (it seemed to represent the outdoors I experience). The scent is not nearly as strong, and just like the label says on the lit, it smells like FREEDOM!
I have been using the same deodorant every since Jr High. This is the first time I have even considered trying something else. They sure know how to rope us in eh? Have you smelled any of them yet?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Nirvana. You're deodorant takes you back to when Kurt Cobain was still alive?
ReplyDeletekinda. Teen Spirit was a deodorant, so 'Smells like teen spirit" referred to that. only partial credit. I got the Denali scent, I noted that but accidentally posted before I was finished.
