In a comment to my last post, about 72 hour kits, a friend posted a YouTube video of some REI matches. Take a look, I am sure you will be as impressed as I was.
I have to admit that these types of matches have improved since my days in Boy Scouts. Everyone should have some of these for their 72 kits and even for camping. Combined with Wet Fire tinder you should be able to start a fire in any weather condition.
So if you are starting your survival kit or just trying to get some early season camping in, I would recommend these matches. I am going to be ordering mine in.
